This week, our Blue Prosperity Fiji team piloted the Ocean Use Survey project in Yavusa Navakavu, Rewa Province!
The Blue Prosperity Fiji Ocean Use Survey was designed to fill gaps in knowledge about how and where the ocean is used and valued by Fijians. It will provide important information to decision makers to better understand communities’ needs and priorities when considering actions that may improve ocean health, food security, livelihoods, and sustainable economic growth.
In partnership with the Blue Prosperity Coalition, the Government of Fiji's Ministry of iTaukei Affairs Cultural Heritage and Arts is chairing the Blue Prosperity Fiji Ocean Use Survey initiative with chief technical advisory inputs from the Ministry of Fisheries and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.
